The work on this page was shown at the Visual Arts Collective from February 3rd, 2023 through March 27th, 2023. These works are inspired by the apocalyptic landscapes and creatures from Jeff Vandermeer’s surrealistic novel “Dead Astronauts”. I was inspired not only by characters in the book, but also the staccato rhythm of the narrative as it shifts dimensions, or repeats a variation of a scene. I filtered this narrative through my love of rubber-hose animation, kaiju, and horror films. Those characters used, are done so with the permission of Jeff Vandermeer.
