I sought to reveal the invisible.
It started as many things do, in play. I was heavily interested in magnetic fields, and how they could be manipulated in real time. I discovered a strange material made for education. It was a plastic sheet encasing a gelatin like material in which very fine particles of nickel were suspended. What this did was reveal the magnetic field of an object or device. On a motor you can see how the field moves about. With a magnet, you can see the fine and intricate pattern of even the weakest of fields.
